Summer Food Program for Children

We provided access to food during the summer school break. On Fridays, starting June 16th. We served all the children a delicious hot lunches at the church from 11:30 to 12:30.
Back to School Celebration

We celebrated children in our region going back to school on July 22, 2023 from 12 to 3:00. We served a total of 99 students which consisted of 12 kids in pre-k and kindergarten, 58 kids in elementary school, 11 in middle school and 18 in High School. There were games, food, and activities. All children received free book bags and supplies.
Location: Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. This will be a yearly event.
National Day of Service, July 15th, 2023

July 15th was the National Day of Service. We hosted a cleaning and clearing event for our cemetery in conjunction with the Chipley Historical Center.. Our 35 volunteers helped to uncover grave sites from the vegetation. The event ran from 8:30 to 1:00 pm. and we provided food and drinks. June 19th Celebration 2023

Members of our Choir performed at the June19th Ceremony in partnership with the Pierce Chapel Cemetery members. It was filled with the songs which Harriet Tubman sang while rescuing enslaved people.

How to Safely Clean Cemeteries Workshop
The headstone cleaning workshop attracted students as far away as Athens and Thomaston.

Ten of our church members were honored by the Chipley Historical Center for being among the “Heroes of COVID”. The members provided hot meals for people who were unable to leave their homes during COVID.
